Prayers needed

Lots of prayers needed, I'm down with an extremely bad flu, my throat hurts like anything and I'm sneezing faster than you can say atishoooo :P

Advice on medicine and home made cures is welcome (have tried chicken soup and joshanda, doesn't work :s )

Post...

I sit here, staring at the blue and white screen. I look at the calendar on the computer table, i re-read the poem "A Day Dream" by Emily Bronte written on the August page. I take a look at the headphones, the bluetooth device, the blue light of the mouse and then I look back at the screen, nothing to write, nothing to tell.

It rained a LOT here on Thursday and Friday. whenever it rains in Karachi, a lot of destruction happens, people die, houses are flooded with water and life is greatly affected. I have always enjoyed rain, I have always been the one to go out in the rain when everyone would just stay back under the shade. I LOVE the rain and I hate it when people blame the rain for this destruction. I think it is the planning, the roads, the management that has gone wrong. Rain is a blessing and it will always remain to be. Rain is one thing that always brings a smile to my face, that always makes me happy, relaxed, calm. Don't you just love the sound of rain drops falling, the smell of earth when it rains, the feeling that time stops when it rains, its simply magical :)

On Thursday, I walked a LOT to get home since the roads were flooded and transport closed down due to the water. I walked in knee deep water and it really was something. Although the cold water sparked the pain in my leg but it was fun, it was so dark and quiet at 9 that night that it seemed like midnight. It was so much fun walking home in the downpour with no one around :)

I went to the Airport today with my colleague to pick his brother. Airports are such an odd place. You really see emotions in effect over there. You see a mother crying, who has seen her son after a long time, you see tears in the son's eyes. You see everyone looking like they would cry any moment. You see people saying goodbyes to their loved ones. You see people beaming with happiness on returning to their loved ones, to their home country. It always is such an experience.

Independence Day is just around the corner. I remember the old days, when I would put up jhandiyaan on my house, wear a pakistani flag shaped badge to school, dressed in white with a green shawl-kinda-thingy. We would sing national songs like jeevay jeevay pakistan, yeh watan tumhara hai, maoon ki dua and the likes. I think it was class five or maybe six but as we grow up, 14 August is just an excuse to wake up late, to enjoy another holiday, maybe people would take a leave on Monday so that they have a longer weekend. Life has become so predictable, so monotonous. Anyways, in case I am not able to post on Tuesday, a very happy Independence Day to all of you, they said we won't even survive a week and here we complete SIXTY years. It wasnt possible without each one of us, the people, PAKISTANIS :)

Take care all fo you, keep smiling and keep blogging :)
