The FLU!!!

Atishoooooooooooo !!!!
Yup, thats what's happening this weekend. I've got a very bad flu. atishooooooo. yup thats how bad it is :).
The weather has finally gotten to me. I mean I was waist deep in cold rainy water and nothing happened, I was outside soaking wet almost everytime it rained and nothing happened. And I had to catch flu the easy way, came out of the shower and atishooooo. One small sneeze and it began. Now not only do I have a bad cold but a fever too. Thank God it's the weekend coz I can't imagine going like this to the office. Pray for me friends that I get well soon. I tell you, having a flu is so boring, just lying there on the bed, sneezing like crazy. Stay away in case you catch it :)
Take care fellow bloggers, atishooooo. :D

RAIN!!!

Oh My GOD!!! There was soooo much rain last night that I am simply unable to explain it to you in words. There was so much rain, so much rain that everywhere you looked, you could see only water. Let me tell you from the beginning about what happened to me yesterday.
It started to rain really heavily around 4, my office gets off at 5, I left the office with another colleague in his car and we had 3 other colleagues with us who lived on the same route. When we came on the main road, there was so much water and it was raining so heavily that believe me it was impossible to see what’s just two feet away. The journey to my home from my office usually takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. I’m a bit bad with names of places and addresses so I actually don’t know which route we took, but whichever way we went, the only thing that was visible was water.
After traveling for about 2.5 hours we had completed 25% of the journey & that is when we had the adventure of our life. We took a seemingly right turn, which turned out to be very very wrong. Water started to fill in from under the doors of the car and we were sitting in waist deep water in the car and then the car’s engine stopped. Three of us jumped out of the window because we couldn’t open the doors as more water would have poured in. We then started pushing the car, which was floating actually and we were in about waist deep water while we were doing this.
The main danger to us at that time was of broken electricity cables, because we did hear that people got electrocuted in the same area, where we were pushing the car. The other seemingly less dangerous thing was the danger of open manholes & while pushing the car we were also hanging on to it incase anyone of us dropped in one.
I don’t know how to tell you this but it was nothing short of a miracle that the car started afterwards and if anyone saw a car in which 3 people were using glasses to throw water outside from the car then that was us :)
We decided to go to another colleague’s house near our office, we got there at 11, stayed the night there and I got home at 7 in the morning today. You can imagine how high the tide was by the following picture that I took from my cell during the journey (the lightning was bad and don’t u dare say anything about my cell’s camera :D ) and yes this is a road, NOT a river.

And incase you were wondering, I still LOVE rain and I enjoyed myself yesterday :D

Ouch!!!

You wake up, offer your fajr prayers, find out that there is still enough time to get a little nap :) You walk towards your bed and this table, that has been there for ages, jumps into your way and you hit your right foot on it. Next moment, you're sitting there with a broken nail hanging just by a bit of flesh and its bleeding and paining really really bad. Goodbye little nap, goodbye happiness :(
I don't know why, but for the past 2-3 months my feet have been getting hurt a lot. I mean first it was the fracture, then i accidentally hit that same left leg on my bed post, than this nail thing and now since my right foot hurts so much, i started putting more stress on my left leg so that right leg doesnt hurt and guess what, now my left leg hurts again where it fractured :(
Pray for me friends, I simply don't know what's happening.
Anyways, I think its just a part of life and the funny thing is, now I've started walking while looking at my feet, knowing where they are going, so that I "accidentally" dont bump into things, although I still suspect that that table jumped into my way and I didnt hit it by mistake :)

And I'm so hooked to Independence Day songs these days. It's either Maula, Dil Dil Pakistan or Yehi Zameen (Junaid Jamshed) or Aay Jawan (Awaz) or Dil Se (Haroon) or old numbers like Iss Parcham kay sayay talay etc :) It's so exciting to hear these songs again, seems as if I'm falling in love with my country all over again. Aik ajeeb sa josh hai :)

And for NO reason atall, I'm listening to the following one too:

Dil ka nagar ab basay na basay
Karliya faisla muskurain gay
Ghum hain hazaar, uljhanain bayshumaar
Par koi ghum gusar ab nahin chahiyay, haan nahin chahiyay
Ghum uthayain gay aur mukurain gay :)

Yaad aayay jo dard ki raat main
Jiss ki baat ho apni har baat main
Chehra woh koi ab nazar main nahin
Aisi koi haseen iss shehar main nahin
Rah guzar main nahin
Na hai intezaar aur na hum bayqaraar :D

The first person to guess which song this is gets virtual chocolates :D

After the Rain

It rained heavily in Karachi and when I say heavily, I mean heavily and since a picture is worth a thousand words, folllowing are a few thousand words:

A view from above:

The NEWLY built underpass at Schon Circle & yes its full of water

This isn't a river, it's a road and can be seen when the water isn't there

Now you see, how high the tide is :)

And it keeps getting better and better
