Felix Felicis

There is officially one week left in my exams and God knows what I wouldn't give for a bottle of Felix Felicis :). Yeah you guessed it, I just read the sixth installment in the Harry Potter seires. I didn't really enjoy reading it the first time but now when I re-read it, I think its a great book. Although I'm really mad that Dumbledore died, I think he'll be back and Snape is definitely on Dumledore's side. What I can't figure out is who took the real Horcrux. Who is this R.A.B ? My money is on Regulas Alfred Black, Sirius Black's brother but lets see what happens. Anyways I definitely need your prayers and don't worry, if I get my hands on some Felix Felicis, I'll definitely share it with you all, the people who are going to give exams and the ones who are going to get their results although I sure hope none of you ever need it.
Okay friends thats it for all and yes a very Merry Christmas to all fellow bloggers who celebrate it.

Exams are coming

Just after writing the title, I've gone totally blank. Things like have I studied enough, is my preparation complete, have I missed anything are circling in my mind. While these thoughts continue to haunt me day and night, I've started receiving wedding invitations from different friends and relatives and with exams right around the corner, I don't know what to do. Dare I say it but exams bring a sort of excitement in our my life. Yesterday, I came across two school students, discussing O' levels chemistry, moles and bonding and all that stuff and I got so nostalgic. It was as if yesterday when I did my O' levels. Time passes so quickly doesn't it. Anyways just watched Spider-Man 2 and something that Peter Parker said hit me right on the head. It went something like this:
"You can't imagine how complicated a thing like reaching somewhere at 8 o' clock can become"
Wow. I couldn't have said it better. Seems so true whenever you get late for uni/office.
One more thing thats been bugging me these days. The day a students pass Intermediate, they head for preparation centres. Whats that all about. Aren't the colleges preparing them enough. There was a time when people studied themselves and got admissions. Also considering the amount of people passing every year, isn't there a need for another university. Not everyone can afford to go abroad, or take admission in universities like FAST, SZABIST and LUMS. And not everyone is a genius to get admissions in the likes of KU and NED. So what are the rest of the students supposed to do. I heard that KU has banned admissions in Masters to people who do not have a Karachi Board background of Matric and Intermediate. This means you are clearly discouraging people who want to do O & A Levels which is definitely far better than Matric & Inter (No offence to matric & inter students). Take O & A Levels as an example of how easy it is to get educated. You can give O & A Level papers anytime after 13 years of age, there is no restriction of doing O Levels before A Levels. I know its a bit expensive but believe me its worth it.
I know this post has been a bit random, but I've got exams and I'm sure all of us have been down that road sometime in our life.
Okay friends, thats it for now, keep bloging.

What's in the Name

I was browsing diffrent blogs, passing through streets of blogistan and I noticed something. The habit or need of bloggers to chose an identity different from their name. I mean your name could'nt be that bad that you are afraid to use it on your blog :) and I know that is definitely not the reason. The main reason is privacy. Where some people would happily put their names on their blogs to get recognition, some prefer to stay in the dark and blog. Afterall putting your name on your blog can make you available on certain Google search results. Most people I have seen use their initials as their nick. Take me for example, No not M.E., me as in I, no not I, I as in Saad, oh forget it :) You see it does get confusing sometimes. Consider the following

Suppose a friend from blogistan calls you up. F is friend & U is you

F: As salaam u alaikum. Is this U ?
U: Walaikum as salaam. Yes this is me. Who are U ?
F: No, I'm not U, I'm G.
U: Oh Gee. How are U ?
F: No, I'm not Gee, I'm Geee
U: Oh so you are Geee. Which one. Geee M or Geee H or just Geee
F: None of these. I'm just Geee.
U: Oh J(ust) G(eee). How are you ?
F: No not JG, just simple G
U: Yaar this is getting seriously confusing, just stick to blogistan and leave a comment or do a post and I'll find out who you really are.
F: Good idea. Allah Hafiz
U: Allah Hafiz

Good Bye

Alright people, its that time of the year again. Exams are right around the corner and its time to say bye bye to blogging and hello to studying. I won't be blogging almost all December (Don't get excited yet, I may post once or twice). InshaAllah will try and post as soon as exams end.
I want to share something that happened in the bus last friday. Firstly, as usual there was no space inside so I had to stand at the door, and the winter air hitting your face (well you get the idea). Another person right beside me, who had been pushed many times by other passengers had this to say:
"Yaar batao kaisa waqt aagaya hai, Karachi waloo ko Karachi main paoon(feet) tak rakhnay ki jagah nahin mil rahi hai. (He had only one foot on the stand at the door). Apnay hi shahar (city) main hum ko dhakkay khanay par rahay hain."
And this was said in such a funny manner that it brought smiles to all the people standing there. I'd say it was a great beginning to a great day.
Okay people, see you in January, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you.

PS: The bird bites:)
