Happy Birthday :)

I just noticed something, my posts are usually in the order of "rain", "me getting hurt", "my birthday" and then "Ramzan". (weird!!)

Anyways, as you might have guessed, it is my birthday today :)

Looking back at the twenty five years of my life, I would say that I have gained and lost a lot of people, things and friends. There have been times when it seemed really really difficult to be what I am and there have been times when I have been extremely happy (mashaAllah say)

I owe all the good times to the good people who surround me, to my friends, to the people who wish me every year, no matter what, to the people who have been there whenever I need them, to my family and friends :)

I know none of you will see this post and being the introvert person that I am, I might not be able to say this to you but I really am grateful when I say thank you.
This year the celebration was different. A dear friend and colleague emailed all staff to gather in the cafeteria at lunch time and brought a cake and well, it was a very very pleasant surprise. (and the cake was really delicious too :p)

I wish all of you happiness and ramzan mubarak. May all your prayers come true.

Keep smiling and keep blogging my friends :)

PS: Everyone who forgot my birthday, dont worry, I wont forget YOU :p
PPS: I know this post is very random but thats how I am :)

Ramzan Mubarak

Wish you a very blessed Ramadan Mubarak. May Allah bless you and your loved ones in this holy month from His gracious love and kindness by listening and accepting all your prayers and the doors of heaven be open for you and door of Hell be closed as He promised (Ameen).

Ouch, ouch, oooouchh!!!

Why o why does it have to be a nail injury???? :s
I mean of all the things that could go wrong, of all the ways a guy could get hurt, why does it have to be a nail injury :(
I injured my right hand index finger nail and half of it was separated from the skin (I know it even pains to write and read this, imagine how it feels to experience it :( ). I have this big white bandage on my finger and it is paining a lot :( . Plus I'm typing funny because I'm not using my index finger and whenever by mistake I hit the keyboard with it, I press 3-4 keys at a time and my finger starts to hurt more.
I don't know whats up with my health, first the flu and now this. And although the flu has gone but I still have a bad throat and well... I pray that no one ever gets their nails injured and ever gets their throat as sore as mine, EVER (ameen)
Please pray for me friends, I am always in need of prayers.
Keep smiling and keep blogging :)

Advice on medicine and home made cures is welcome (have tried chicken soup and joshanda, doesn't work :s )

Post...

I sit here, staring at the blue and white screen. I look at the calendar on the computer table, i re-read the poem "A Day Dream" by Emily Bronte written on the August page. I take a look at the headphones, the bluetooth device, the blue light of the mouse and then I look back at the screen, nothing to write, nothing to tell.

It rained a LOT here on Thursday and Friday. whenever it rains in Karachi, a lot of destruction happens, people die, houses are flooded with water and life is greatly affected. I have always enjoyed rain, I have always been the one to go out in the rain when everyone would just stay back under the shade. I LOVE the rain and I hate it when people blame the rain for this destruction. I think it is the planning, the roads, the management that has gone wrong. Rain is a blessing and it will always remain to be. Rain is one thing that always brings a smile to my face, that always makes me happy, relaxed, calm. Don't you just love the sound of rain drops falling, the smell of earth when it rains, the feeling that time stops when it rains, its simply magical :)

On Thursday, I walked a LOT to get home since the roads were flooded and transport closed down due to the water. I walked in knee deep water and it really was something. Although the cold water sparked the pain in my leg but it was fun, it was so dark and quiet at 9 that night that it seemed like midnight. It was so much fun walking home in the downpour with no one around :)

I went to the Airport today with my colleague to pick his brother. Airports are such an odd place. You really see emotions in effect over there. You see a mother crying, who has seen her son after a long time, you see tears in the son's eyes. You see everyone looking like they would cry any moment. You see people saying goodbyes to their loved ones. You see people beaming with happiness on returning to their loved ones, to their home country. It always is such an experience.

Independence Day is just around the corner. I remember the old days, when I would put up jhandiyaan on my house, wear a pakistani flag shaped badge to school, dressed in white with a green shawl-kinda-thingy. We would sing national songs like jeevay jeevay pakistan, yeh watan tumhara hai, maoon ki dua and the likes. I think it was class five or maybe six but as we grow up, 14 August is just an excuse to wake up late, to enjoy another holiday, maybe people would take a leave on Monday so that they have a longer weekend. Life has become so predictable, so monotonous. Anyways, in case I am not able to post on Tuesday, a very happy Independence Day to all of you, they said we won't even survive a week and here we complete SIXTY years. It wasnt possible without each one of us, the people, PAKISTANIS :)

Take care all fo you, keep smiling and keep blogging :)
